PiNK Beauty Party Vol.4 (2015 Tokyo）
Report by Kiei Ogata
Run for the Cure® Foundation held its 4th PiNK Beauty Party, once again at Fujishin’s FASTA Aoyama Studio, on May 31, for survivors and women who are fighting breast cancer. Professional make-up artists, manicurists, an aromatherapist, and medical-related wig advisors offered sessions run at the three-hour event, which included teatime, for 26 participants. They were able to “take home” techniques taught to improve their quality of life. Participants could chose either the make-up or the manicure session, and all attendees had a chance to participate in both the aromatherapy and wig sessions by rotating between the beauty stations.

PiNK Beauty Party Vol.3 was held in Omotesando at Fujishin’s Aoyama FASTA studio on Sunday, May 18, 2014. The venue was appropriately adorned with beautiful pictures, as Fujishin is a comprehensive cosmetic dealer, and filled with bright colors and cheerful atmosphere. Twenty-five survivors joined us for a full three hours of beauty menus aimed to contribute to the quality of life (QOL) through the “healing powers of beauty.” They enjoyed the make-up seminar by makeup instructor Ms. Kamon and nail care treatment by Future Nail. Medical wig company, Svenson, has provided the information booth this time and added quality information for the participants to take home for the improvements to their QOL. 【Read the Report】
PiNK Beauty Party Vol.2 (2013 Kagoshima)
On 7th July, 2013 we had our second Beauty Party, this time in Kagoshima, on the southern island of Kyushu. Co-organized by Run for the Cure® Foundation, Japan Esthetic Association and the NPO Anatadakeno Nyuugan-dewanaku, the Beauty Party was held at an adjacent room to the annual “Kagoshima Women’s Medical Forum” that attracts 5,000 guests every year. Survivors had the chance to receive a free make-up session or nail care session, or hand and arm massage session. There was also an “open classroom” where demonstrations of hand and face care took place. This year was the 10th “Kagoshima Women’s Medical Forum”, and was celebrated at a fundraising event called “Think Pink”. Run for the Cure® Foundation attended, and was invited to address the attendees.
PiNK Beauty Party Vol.1 (2012 Tokyo)
First Beauty Party a great success
PiNK magazine, the Foundation’s quarterly publication dedicated to women’s health and breast cancer awareness, invited 50 breast cancer survivors to our very first PiNK Beauty Party. We hoped that the beauty treatments would bring women together and build relationships, while providing a chance to share their stories. The Japan Esthetic Association provided professionals who taught important self-care steps to feel and look better. PiNK Beauty Party was held on Saturday, 29th September, 2012, from 2:00PM – 5:00PM at the Tokyo American Club. 2-1-2 Azabudai Minato-ku Tokyo 106-8649. This event was conducted in Japanese.
Some 32 ladies joined us for a day of experiencing beauty treatments by professionals from the Japan Esthetic Association, who donated their time and expertise on this special occasion. Participants entered a room colorfully decorated with Pink Poinsettia – called ‘Princettia’ – compliments of Suntory Flowers. Three booths were set up to experience the art of nail care, make-up, and hand and arm massage. The theme of ‘Look good … feel better’ was demonstrated through pretty pink ribbon nail art, learning how to enhance facial features, and experiencing soothing, relaxing moments by a masseuse. Meanwhile, at the ‘open classroom’, four beauty sessions were held that anyone could sit in on while waiting her turn at the ‘experience booths’. Biscuits and tea were available all day as everyone mingled and made new friends between sessions.
Everyone left with a big smile, a Suntory Flowers’ Princettia, and a nail polish gift set compliments of OPI Japan. We thank our generous sponsors and the Japan Esthetic Association for making this gathering possible, where 32 women beamed with beauty and joy. Look out for an announcement of our next Beauty Party!
